Why do skin peels work?
Superficial and medium‑depth skin peels are professional skincare treatments designed to gently exfoliate the skin, refresh the complexion, and stimulate natural renewal. They work by applying a carefully selected solution to the skin, encouraging the outer layers to shed and reveal smoother, more radiant skin beneath.
Improves skin texture by softening roughness, dryness and smoothing mild scarring
Brightens dull or tired skin, restoring a healthy glow
Helps reduce congestion and refine the appearance of pores
Reduces the appearance of fine lines and sun damage
Improves uneven pigmentation, including age spots and melasma
Chemical peels are a versatile, evidence‑based way to refresh and revitalise the skin. They can be customised to suit different skin types and concerns, making them a popular choice for anyone seeking visible, predictable results.
What does a skin peel feel like?
A skin peel is usually very manageable, and most clients are surprised by how gentle the experience feels. During the treatment, you may notice a warm, tingling, or slightly prickly sensation as the solution works on the skin. Some peels feel like a mild heat or tightness that builds gradually, while others feel more like a light stinging that settles quickly. The sensation typically lasts only a few minutes and is closely monitored to keep you comfortable. Afterward, the skin may feel warm, tight, or a little dry—similar to mild sun exposure—with any redness settling over the next few hours. Overall, it’s a well‑tolerated treatment designed to refresh the skin without significant discomfort.
Will I be bright red and will I go flakey and peel?
Most people experience only mild, short‑lived changes after a skin peel, and it’s usually far less dramatic than they expect. You may look a little pink or warm immediately after treatment, similar to light sun exposure, but this typically settles within a few hours. Whether you flake or peel depends on the strength of the peel and your individual skin — lighter peels often cause little to no visible shedding, while stronger peels can lead to some dryness or light flaking over the following days. Any peeling that does occur is usually gentle rather than dramatic, and it’s simply a sign of the skin renewing itself.
Superficial and medium‑depth peels are designed to fit comfortably around everyday life. Often clients dont experience redness or flaking, and if you do this is likely to be minimal. You can usually return to normal activities straight away, with simple aftercare to support the skin as it renews.
